Auckland Live is delighted to announce Dame Kiri Te Kanawa's return to the ASB Theatre with an intimate recital, following a sold-out concert in 2014 and a hugely successful nationwide tour earlier this year.

The recital will be a unique opportunity to see one of the world’s greatest opera singers live in concert.

Dame Kiri will be accompanied by one of New Zealand’s finest musicians, the internationally acclaimed pianist Terence Dennis. The repertoire will feature a programme of romantic songs and arias to delight music lovers, including works from Mozart, Handel, Vivaldi, Puccini, Heggie and Canteloube, as well as a selection of traditional folk songs.

Dame Kiri says she is looking forward to performing again in her home town.

“I hope those who attend will enjoy the musical experience. The songs I have selected are all personal favourites and it is always a pleasure to share my music,” she says.

Dame Kiri’s vocal beauty, natural serenity, versatility, presence and personality have captivated audiences in premier concert halls throughout the world, including The Met, Vienna State, Sydney Opera House, La Scala, Covent Garden and the Chicago Lyric Opera.

Terence Dennis has an international reputation as a highly sought-after accompanist. His performances throughout New Zealand and overseas have received critical acclaim.
