Music

Auckland Live is delighted to announce a superb line up of performers for the 6 August concert Morning Melodies Songbook – you call the tune! at the Bruce Mason Centre.

Originally from Christchurch, baritone James Harrison has performed all over the world and was seen most recently as Maximilian in NZ Opera’s production of Candide. He is joined by soprano Charlotte Nightingale, recently described by the NZ Herald as “hilarious, rebellious and downright inspiring” in her performance as Tanya in Amici & AMT’s production of Mamma Mia!. They will be accompanied by the talented Penny Dodd on piano who is a well-regarded musical director, arranger and pianist with 28 years experience in New Zealand, Australia and Great Britain.

They will perform a selection of songs chosen by the Morning Melodies audience themselves from votes that were cast in earlier concerts. Song list will include: Memory from CATS, Don’t Cry For Me Argentina from Evita, and folksong favourite, Danny Boy.
