Celebrate Roald Dahl With Auckland Live Kids!
A giganticus Happy Birthday to Roald Dahl, the world’s no.1 storyteller, who would have been 103 today!
To celebrate, Auckland Live is bringing to the Bruce Mason Centre an incredible live-theatre show rolling two of Roald Dahl’s most delightful and disgusting books into one.
Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes & Dirty Beasts takes the classic fairy tales (Snow White, Cinderella, Three Little Pigs and more) and twists them into razztwizzlering new stories that are seriously funny and frighteningly silly. Whether you’re 5 or 105 you’re going to love this show!
The book has been adapted for the stage by award-winning company shake and stir theatre co (George’s Marvellous Medicine). Director and co-producer Ross Balbuziente said, “It was a passion and joy to take Dahl’s iconic books and reimagine them as theatre works for families of every age, shape and size to enjoy.”
Following a sold-out season at the Sydney Opera House, Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes & Dirty Beasts will be on at Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna for three days only as part of Auckland Live Kids– it’s going to be a pizz-whizzing time.
Each year, Roald Dahl Day continues the world’s number one author’s legacy through the magic of storytelling. From Matilda to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, his books have encouraged the minds of many young readers and sold millions of copies around the world.
