This year, as part of Auckland Live Christmas in Aotea Square two stunning creations by acclaimed creative designer Angus Muir are calling Aotea Square home. Between Fri 28 Nov – Sun 21 Dec, take in the beauty of The Pavilion and The Neon Star. The perfect opportunity snap a pic with your friends and whānau for your Instagram.

 

The Christmas Pavilion

Affectionately called ‘the pav’ and described as a festive chess board, Santa’s kaleidoscope and a rainbow Parthenon. The Pavilion returns to Aotea Square for 2025 and once again will be the stage for all the energetic and exciting performances happening across this epic programme.

The Neon Star

Standing tall (around 4 metres) at the Queen Street entrance of the Square, Angus Muir’s The Neon Star will be lighting up Aotea Square for the first time this year. Best viewed after sunset.
