Coming to the City This Weekend

 What’s happening this weekend?

We’re getting ready for a big day of activity in and around Aotea Square in the CBD this Sunday.

To help you plan your journey, we have assembled some useful information about travel, road closures and parking to ensure you have an excellent time.


What’s going on this weekend?

The Farmers Santa Parade is taking place this Sunday 24 November from 1 pm, followed by Santa’s Party in Aotea Square from 2.30 pm – 5.30 pm.

Road Closures

All inner-city roads will be closed between 11am and 5pm on Sunday. People are advised to get into the city before 11am to avoid frustration with traffic and parking

Free Parking
Parking will be FREE on Parade Day for vehicles parked before 11am and exited between 2pm-6pm at these Auckland Transport Carparks:

  • Downtown
  • Victoria Street
    ** Please note exit before 2pm and after 6pm will incur a fee.

Wilson Parking – Greys Ave
Wilson Parking – Kitchener Street
Wilson Parking – St Matthews


Transport

For information on Bus, Train and Ferry schedules and fares including family and group passes visit at.govt.nz or call the AT Public Transport Contact Centre on 09 366 6400.

Children ride trains FREE on weekends. Children must be aged 5-15 and have a registered AT HOP card.

 

Rain Date
Should it, 'Rain on our Parade', an announcement to move to the rain date will be made on the day.

The current rain date is Sunday 1st December.
