Coming to the City This Weekend?
We’re getting ready for a big weekend of shows and festivities in the CBD! To help you plan your journey, we have assembled some useful information about travel, road closures, mobility access and parking to ensure you have an excellent time.
What’s going on this weekend?
Diwali Festival 2018 is taking place in Queen Street, Wellesley Street and Aotea Square.
We anticipate heavy traffic coming into the city, and The Civic carpark and other CBD-based parking may be full or difficult to get to due to road closures. Please factor in extra travel time when planning your journey. Buses, trains and ferries will run according to weekend schedules. Extra bike racks will be provided around Aotea Square. You may also choose to catch a taxi or Uber.
Mobility access & parking
Accessible drop-off points are available at Lorne Street, Wakefield Street, Greys Ave or Myers St (off Mayoral Drive). Limited mobility parking is available on Wakefield St, Myers St and at The Civic carpark on a first come, first served basis.
