Celebrate Te Tau Hou Māori, the Māori New Year with Auckland Live. Experience the vibrant spirit of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s Toi Māori creatives through a lineup of exciting events happening across our venues – celebrating their talent, diversity and cultural richness.

The Tīwhas: A Matariki Spectacular promises a night of laughs, waiata and remembrance as they take you on a journey through the stars of Matariki. Be part of a joyful celebration of te tau hou Māori and mana takatāpui.

Immerse yourself in a multisensory art experience - Ihirangaranga. Featuring live music performances by Horomona Horo and Dr Jeremy Mayall, spoken word from Michael Moore and visual arts by Regan Balzer.

Celebrate Matariki with Ria Hall as she comes together with the Auckland Philharmonia to perform powerful anthems including ‘They Come Marching’, ‘Te Ahi Kai Pō’, and ‘Black Light’ fused with epic orchestral soundscape.

Tūrama, the hugely popular series of large-scale illuminated art installations returns to light up Queen Street for the city centre’s Matariki Festival programme. Marvel in the shining light of Tūrama Kaitiaki: Horotiu in Aotea Square between 1 June – 13 July.
