To celebrate Matariki and pay homage to this season, we have a series of performances and events taking place across our venues to showcase the richness, diversity, and talent of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s Toi Māori creatives.

Join us at the Auckland Town Hall, Te Hōro ā-Tāone o Tāmaki Makaurau on Friday, July 14 from 12pm – 6pm for Matariki Festival Day. Celebrate Matariki with performance, markets, food trucks, films and more.

Experience Troy Kingi like never before when the renowned singer-song writer comes together with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra to perform composer Mahuia Bridgman-Cooper’s lush orchestral arrangements of popular songs from Kingi’s eclectic catalogue.

Enjoy Whakaaturanga, Whakaari, Whakawhiti Kōrero – Presentation, Performance, and Conversation at M9 when nine powerful Māori voices come together for one night only.

Explore an awe-inspiring light installation across Aotea – Te Papa Tū Wātea, Aotea Square as we bring to life the story of how Māui captured the secret of fire from the goddess Mahuika.

Plus, take in all the exciting activations taking place across Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland as part of Matariki ki te Manawa and the official Matariki Festival Programme.
