MEET THE ARTISTS: CREATION CREATION
Windmill Theatre Company has a global reputation as a leading producer of contemporary theatrical works for children, teens and families. The company premieres new work in Adelaide and tours regionally, nationally and internationally. Windmill also has a screen producing arm, Windmill Pictures, that creates unique film and television projects, positioning the company as a powerhouse of live performance and screen productions.
Co-Creator, Director: Rosemary Myers
Rosemary Myers is the Artistic Director of Windmill Pictures. In 2021, she co-created and directed Beep and Mort.
In 2015, her first feature film Girl Asleep opened the 2016 Berlinale Generation 14plus and went on to win the MIFF Age Critic Prize 2016, the Grand Jury Prize at the 2016 Seattle Film Festival, 2016 CinefestOZ Film Prize and eight AACTA Award nominations. In 2020, the film was nominated for the Byron Kennedy AACTA for Best Indie Film of the past decade.
Before her role at Windmill Pictures for over 14 years, Rosemary was the Artistic Director of Windmill Theatre Company. A multi-Helpmann Award nominated theatre director, her productions have toured to prestigious venues and festivals across the world, including Giffoni Film Festival, Rooftop Film Festival New York, Sydney Opera House, New York’s New Victory Theatre and London’s Southbank Centre, among others. In 2017 she was awarded the prestigious Australia Council Theatre Award.
Co-Creator, Audioscript, Interviews: Roslyn Oades
Roslyn Oades is an award-winning Naarm-based theatremaker and dramaturg. Roslyn’s productions have been commissioned by RISING, Malthouse, Sydney Festival, Belvoir, Utp, Windmill, Vitalstatistix, Hothouse and 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Her original works for stage include: Hello, Goodbye & Happy Birthday, I’m Your Man, Creation Creation, Stories of Love & Hate, Fast Cars & Tractor Engines, Cutaway–A Portrait and In a Deep Dark Forest. Her installations include: Cell 26, an audio work for a prison bed, Sea Stories, an audio work for sunrise and The Nightline (co-created with Bob Scott) an underground club for insomniacs commissioned by RISING 2021 and presented at Sydney Festival, Adelaide Festival and Bleach Festival in 2022.
Her productions have toured widely and I’m Your Man was adapted into an online interactive documentary by SBS. A trilogy of Roslyn’s headphone-verbatim plays, titled Acts of Courage, is published through Currency Press. Roslyn is the producer and host of Audiosketch Podcast (‘art dates with pioneering female/non-binary sound artists’) for Chamber Made and directed her first commercial audio-fiction podcast You Don’t Know Me for LiSTNR.

An award-winning designer for theatre, film and television, Jonathon has designed for companies including: Sydney Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre, State Theatre Company of South Australia (STCSA), Belvoir Theatre, LaBoite, Bell Shakespeare, isthisyours?, Aphids, Arena Theatre Company, Polyglot, The Real
TV Project, Polytoxic, Men of Steel, Lemony S Puppet Theatre, Terrapin Puppet Theatre, Vitalstatistix, Barking Gecko, The Border Project, Dead Puppet Society, The Last Great Hunt, Restless Dance Theatre, The Escapists and Sandpit. Jonathon was festival designer for the Out of the Box Festival and Brisbane Festival’s Arcadia.
Co-Creator, Designer: Fleur Elise Noble
Fleur Elise Noble is a creator and an explorer - always seeking new ways in which to make art and share it with the world. Her superpower is her ability to focus obsessively on creative tasks. She was awarded scholarships from art schools in Adelaide and New York, where she studied drawing, painting, and sculpture. She went on to equip herself with an arsenal of creative forces, including puppetry, design, animation, film, projection mapping, performance, dance, writing and illustration.
Fleur is best known for her unique visual performances, which she spent many years performing at festivals around the world. Currently a PhD student at Flinders University, Fleur is writing a novel and designing a new performance for young people about digital addiction. She believes in the power of creativity to make complex ideas accessible and engaging.
Lighting Designer, Technical Designer: Chris Petridis
Chris is a lighting and video designer from Adelaide, working across theatre, dance, and other live events in Australia and internationally.
Chris has worked with renowned arts organisations including State Theatre Company South Australia, Theatre Republic, isthisyours?, Australian Dance Theatre, Brink Productions, Restless Dance Theatre, Slingsby Theatre Company, Force Majure, Windmill Theatre Company and Vitalstatistix.
Chris recently worked on the inaugural Illuminate Adelaide Festival’s Light Cycles in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens crafted by the world-leading studio, Moment Factory. Other recent credits include Carla Lippis’ Mondo Psycho for WOMAD 2022, Theatre Republic’s How Not To Make It In America and Windmill Theatre Company’s Creation Creation.
Composer: Harry Covill
Harry creates eclectic music/sound design for screen and live performance. In 2020, he composed ROBOROVSKI, the animated short film directed by Dev Patel and Tilda Cobham-Hervey which premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival. Other notable works include feature film, Girl Asleep, directed by Rosemary Myers and the short film, A Field Guide to Being a 12 Year Old Girl directed by Tilda Cobham-Hervey (Crystal Bear).
Theatre credits include Creation Creation and Big Bad Wolf (Windmill Theatre Company) and Atlantis (Belvoir). For Back to Back Theatre he composed the original score for the internationally acclaimed video project, The Democratic Set and the third iteration of the video series, Radial, created in collaboration with the National Theatre of Scotland.
