Brighten Your Monday Mornings With Auckland Live's Monthly Music Series

For the 22nd year, Auckland Live is thrilled to present the institution that is the Bruce Mason Centre monthly concert series, Morning Melodies for 2023. This hugely popular annual tradition sees a specially curated programme of some of Auckland’s most highly talented artists and brass bands perform toe-tapping music to brighten Monday mornings each month from February to December.
 
This event is hugely popular with those who have retired, have young kids or just happen to find themselves free on Monday mornings. Some attendees have been coming for years, with Morning Melodies being the highlight of their month, offering the perfect opportunity to catch up with whānau and friends, or even make new acquaintances over a free cup of tea and a biscuit, before taking in a lively line-up that showcases the very best of military bands, swing music, brass and more feel-good music.

 
The 2023 line-up features the return of classic favourites who have been performing as part of the programme for many years, such as the Royal New Zealand Navy Band, Society Jazzmen, and Band of the Royal Regiment of NZ Artillery.

New to the programme for the first time is vintage-inspired vocal trio The Madeleines, making their Morning Melodies debut on 11 September. Having all performed around the globe, this trio will bring their delightful jazz and swing to the stage to transport audiences to another era of timeless elegance.
 
Over its 22 years, this lively event has created an enthusiastic community of patrons who return year after year from across the city to experience this staple celebration of the nostalgic music that they know and love. It’s this level of passion that saw Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland voted Best Global Music City in 2022.
