The Royal New Zealand Ballet returns to Auckland just in time for Christmas with the acclaimed Hansel & Gretel. Laughter, tears, shivers down the spine, plenty of sugar, and just a touch of spice together make a recipe for a truly happy ending and a wonderful ballet experience for all ages this festive season.

Get the whānau together for Auckland Philharmonia’s Christmas concert, especially designed for the littlest members of your family. Come along for a fun-filled, festive hour full of music, singing, and hands-on activities for your tamariki.

We’re bringing some Christmas cheer to Aotea Square this December with a festive programme of free, whānau-friendly performances and experiences. Don’t miss the outdoor cinema, games, live music, Christmas Karaoke and so much more. Come on down for a merry ol’ time!
Sun 10 Dec | 📍 Auckland Town Hall
Enjoy a true Christmas spirit as Bach Musica performs the first three parts of Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248 which was written in 1734. Three majestic trumpets, virtuoso choruses and colourful solo arias for vocal and instrumental soloists alike are abundant in this fantastic composition.
Sat 16 Dec | 📍 The Civic
Following sold-out performances last year, Love Actually in Concert featuring a live orchestra will be bringing the magic back to Auckland this year just in time for Christmas! Sit under the starry sky of The Civic and laugh, sing, and maybe even shed a tear as you experience the emotion of the ultimate romantic comedy.
Sun 17 – Mon 18 Dec | 📍 Auckland Town Hall
After three centuries, Handel’s Messiah still captivates audiences. Auckland Choral is delighted to bring you this work of dazzling soloists, rousing choruses and instrumental fireworks, celebrating with hope and inspiration for the coming year.
