Lantern Sky festival scam ticket warning

Auckland Live has become aware of social media advertising for the ‘Lantern Festival’ and ‘Lantern Sky’ festival. The advertising claims these events will be held in Auckland’s Aotea Square on 26-27 September and 3-4 October 2025.

Please note, these events are not booked into Aotea Square. They are not related to any Auckland Live or Auckland Council Event and appear to be a scam.

These sponsored social media posts are directing potential customers to a website which is encouraging payment of $49.99 and the entering of credit card and personal details.

We believe this website to be part of an ongoing international scam and strongly urge our customers not to purchase or input any personal information into it.

All official Auckland Live partner events will be listed on our website.

Ticketmaster NZ Ltd is our exclusive ticketing agent for the following venues - Auckland Town Hall, The Civic, Aotea Square, Aotea Centre and Bruce Mason Centre.

Alternative ticketing providers: 
Some events at our Queens Wharf venues use alternative ticketing providers such as Eventfinda and iTicket. It is important you view the individual events ticketing providers’ websites for confirmed events and check their terms and conditions of purchase.
