What is this programme?
The Presenter Training Programme Aotearoa is a structured Programme to engage emerging Presenters in New Zealand with training in the fundamentals and principles of ‘being a Presenter’. This Programme is a partnership with Pac Australia and Auckland Live and draws on the skills and experience of New Zealand and Australian performing arts professionals.
The Programme aims to develop leadership among emerging presenters in the New Zealand performing arts ecology, support new ways of thinking when programming, develop pathways for growth within the profession and nurture a resilient support network of professionals.
Who is it for?
This Programme offers insight and strategies for New Zealand presenters who are new to their role and yet to develop a knowledge base and/or the expertise to operate in a manner that is confident, independent, and autonomous. It is also appropriate for staff who work under a manager who want to learn more about the presenting landscape and gain professional development or are looking to step up into a management role.
The Programme is available for up to 20 participants to support a collegial approach to learning and developing a strong network.
This Programme has been designed for participants who programme and/or run venues or festivals within their community.
The programme runs for 6 months, commencing with an in-person intensive in March alongside PANNZ Arts Market in Auckland and includes an in-person intensive in August at APAX, Melbourne, Australia. Outside of these in-person events, eight online sessions will be held for 2 hours every three weeks during business hours. Successful applicants are expected to attend all online sessions and at least one in-person intensive. Online options will be provided for the in-person events should it be required.
