Music

95bFM is New Zealand’s oldest independent broadcaster. Their mission is to give voice to underground music from Auckland and beyond, to support independent journalism, and to foster a local arts community that is diverse, experimental, and ambitious.

We're excited to be bringing four fab DJs from 95bFM to play at Britomart this NZ Music Month, so come and enjoy the resident DJ before heading home for the day.

Thu 6 May - Bridge

Bridge is the host of the Wednesday 1-4 pm show on 95bFM, helping lift through the middle of the week with a wide range of musical approaches.

As a producer and drummer, Bridge recently released the GROVES EP, on local label Noa Records, under the moniker Hasji. The record was designed to treat feelings of contemporary overstimulation - something Bridge hopes to bring to the set at Britomart.

Thu 13 May - Sam Harmony

Samuel Harmony is a DJ who leans toward the gently euphoric. Part of Friendly Potential and a host on bFM,  his musical taste is a varied kaleidoscope with a deep appreciation for all music and a love of dance floors as spaces for ecstatic communion.  A fan of all that's good in Boogie, New Wave, Disco, House, Post-punk, Afro, Modern Soul, AOR, and so much more, his DJ sets are tailored to fit the mood and encourage mirth and revelry. For his Auckland Live set, he will be playing 100% music from Aotearoa in celebration of NZ Music Month.

Thu 20 May - Amelia

Amelia Berry is a DJ and producer based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. As with her own music as Amamelia, Amelia's DJing moves from genre to genre as the spirit takes her, skirting disco, funk, and Italo, through to hardcore and jungle. You're guaranteed a gay ol' time.

Thu 27 May - Sigrid

Whether it’s a lost Egyptian disco gem or a wobbly synth jam released five minutes ago on Soundcloud, 95bFM’s wayward offspring and one third of Community Garden, Sigrid has her finger on music’s most secret pulse. Get your Shazam app ready, you’re gonna want to hear these tunes again.
