From hip-hop sets to DJ decks, this weekend has something to satisfy all your cravings for smooth tunes and slick moves.

Headlining Friday night, join Rina Chae (Mother of Imperial House of Waacking NZ) for a dance battle like no other. Five different dance teams will bring their A-game, not only battling to be crowned the winner, but also representing different continents of the world, celebrating the culture and diversity within Aotearoa New Zealand's street dance scene

If you’re after some music to vibe to, grab a drink and pull up a chair to soak up some of the freshest sounds from Kiwi artists including Che Fu, Imugi, top Kiwi DJs, and local rising stars from Stand Up Stand Out (SUSO) alumni.

There will also be outdoor films (including hit musical film, In The Heights and short animated films), an opportunity to uncover or brush up on your dance skills with Freshmans Dance Crew and so much more. Check out the full schedule and line-up below!

While you're visiting, make sure you stop by to enjoy a bite or a beverage from pop-up food trucks or the Container in the Square Café.

Friday 10 February | 4pm – 11pm

4pm – 5pm | DJ: DJ POM – get amongst nothing but good vibes from Christchurch-born DJ Pom, known for bringing his sets to all types of bars, clubs and events

5pm – 6pm | DJ: DJ Scizzorhands – don’t miss this world-class turntablist, delivering a variety of music with a signature hip-hop style

6pm – 9pm | Performance: In Yo Face Vol. 2: Continental X Open Style Street Dance Battle – join Rina Chae and five groups of dancers for an epic dance battle of the continents

9pm – 10pm | Performance: Imugi – experience this fresh and talented music duo as they play a live set full of trip-hop, synth-pop and R&B

10pm – 11pm | DJ: DJ ORIKoL – expect all the energetic joys of Afro flavour, as DJ ORIKoL takes over the Square for this closing set


Saturday 11 February | 10am – 11pm

10am – 11am | Performance: Stand Up Stand Out (SUSO) Alumni – celebrate talented SUSO musicians, including Crispin Manikkam, M1, and Sonatane Kaufusi

11am – 12 pm | Film: Animation Gets Groovy – be delighted by a collection of short and creative films for all ages, curated by Melbourne International Animation Festival

12pm – 1.30pm | Performance & Workshop: The Drummers of Burundi – take in an engaging performance and workshop celebrating Burundian heritage and learn stories and skills directly from the drummers

1.30pm – 4pm | Performance & Workshop: Freshmans Dance Crew – don’t miss this action-packed performance and workshop with some of New Zealand’s top street dancers, plus a special guest performance by Gibz

4pm – 6.30pm | Film: In the Heights – enjoy a free outdoor screening of this hit musical movie filled with beats, moves and storytelling | PG, coarse language | 2 hours, 23 mins

6.30pm – 8.30pm | Performance: Friends & Whānau – get warmed up for a big night with an exciting opening act full of good music and good vibes

8.30pm – 9.30pm | Performance: Che Fu – join the crowd for an unmissable performance from one of New Zealand’s most iconic music artists 

9.30pm – 11pm | DJ: Manuel Bundy – do not miss the iconic Manuel Bundy live in action. Manuel is a local fave amongst the DJ scene and is sure to entertain
