Stop by and unlock the surprises of the Auckland Live Digital Stage Music Box!

Turn the crank and the Auckland Live Digital Stage will reveal one of eight acts digitally busking in celebration of New Zealand Music Month. From acrobats to dancers and musicians, get ready to be surprised and delighted. Send emojis or donate to these artists through a dedicated webapp to show your love and support. The QR code on the crank in Aotea Square will guide you to access the webpage and embrace this virtual experience.

The world premiere of Digital Buskers is crafted by DOTDOT and showcase the following Digital Buskers

BONUS: Each session will be followed by the screening of a video from the Ka Mua Ka Muri Te Iho Auaha series. Each video showcases an emerging artist performing live, immersed in the magic and mystery of the Auckland Central City Library basement, and in conversation with Auckland Council arts, culture and heritage experts.

Meet the Digital Buskers

Geoff Ong

With his cool and quirky pop sound Geoff’s creates authenticity and connection through his music. Crank the lever and experience his hit songs from his 2020 NZ Music Chart topping debut album ‘Maybe It’ll Be Alright’. Catch him on the Auckland Live Digital Stage or live on stage at Quiz Night: The Great New Zealand Music Challenge. As an extra bonus, Geoff will be premiere his new single called 'Waiting On What To Say'. 


Max Earnshaw

Influenced by hit bands like Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys and a childhood busking on the streets of Ōtautahi Christchurch, Max has released five singles which has landed him on the Official New Zealand Music Charts. He is a rising star and one to watch on the Auckland Live Digital Stage or live on stage at Quiz Night: The Great New Zealand Music Challenge.


Marmalade

Experience Tāmaki Makaurau-based indie-pop five-piece Marmalade. Their soaring female vocals and honest lyricism float above a steady musical backbone like no other. They have new music they’re eagerly waiting to share with you so crank lever on the Auckland Live Digital Stage.


Katie-Lee Webster

This 18-year-old rising pop star has been making waves across Tāmaki Makaurau since their school days where they were selected for SUSO (Stand Up, Sing Out) and Smoke-free Rockquest. Check out Katie’s performance on the Auckland Live Digital Stage or live during Quiz Night: The Great New Zealand Music Challenge.


Lex Shoemark

Lex is a Māori spoken word poet hailing Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Hine. He uses words like lyrics as a weapon to bring you into his world and stories. Discover his poem ‘Gifted’ on the Auckland Live Digital Stage.


Projekt Team

New Zealand’s biggest all style street dance collective. Outside of world championships, they love to battle on local tunes, especially when made by their beatboxer teammate, Reuben James! See them on the big screen and then come to Pick & Battle to see them live.


Manubrium Circus

The digital acrobats of Manubrium Circus will turn the digital screen upside down and sideways as they perform to the music of NZ composer Darryn Harkness. 


Encounters

Performers James Sexton and Samantha McCutchan, directed by Pedro Ilgenfritz as part of the company Theatre of Fire, use theatre masks, movement and the music of Jeffrey Holdaway to create moments of wonder on the Auckland Live Digital Stage.
