FromThePit is New Zealand’s longest-running music photography exhibition that celebrates the creative works of some of Aotearoa, New Zealand’s best music photographers. The photos are exclusive of local artists and venues that promote our homegrown industry.
Marking the fifth anniversary, this year’s exhibition features the most recent work from over fifty photographers. It is made up of around one hundred images carefully selected from the hundreds submitted.
FromThePit is proud to share images from recent gigs across Aotearoa. Make sure you stop by Aotea Square to see the large-scale screen exhibition on the Auckland Live Digital Stage, complementing other host venues across New Zealand. Visit from the pit.co.nz to find out more, explore the full list of host venues, plus view an archive of previous years’ photos.
BONUS: Each screening will be followed by a unique set of photos of new and iconic Kiwi musicians captured by LA-based music photographer Chris Cuffaro. The work will be shown digitally at Auckland Live’s Digital stage, various libraries and community centres throughout Aotearoa and will feature in Rolling Stone Magazine. One-of-a-kind framed and signed photos will be exhibited from 25 May – 4 June at Art News Aotearoa Gallery in Lorne St and are available for sale online via Webbs Auction House, with 100% of proceeds going to charity MusicHelps.
