Discover artworks and photographs throughout the city centre from Elliott Street and Lorne Street to Bledisloe Lane. These installations offer moments to pause, reflect and connect as you walk around the city.
Taurima
Created by Lissy Robinson-Cole (Ngāti Hineamaru, Ngāti Kahu) and Rudi Robinson-Cole (Waikato, Ngāti Paoa, Ngāruahine, Te Arawa). The concept of taurima means to offer the most succulent offerings to your guests, which in turn elevates the mana of your people. There is much opportunity to celebrate and express the functions of sharing kai, but also to celebrate the special native and natural kai of Tāmaki. The designs for Taurima have been created to replicate crochet stitches.
Elliott Street
Reo Haukura
Originally commissioned for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, Reo Haukura responds to the permanent sculpture in front of the Central Library building.
