What is contact tracing?
As part of the Ministry of Health’s Alert Level 2 measures, we are required to have contact tracing in place at point of entry in all our venues for our staff and visitors.
Contact tracing requires everyone to sign in at the Level 3 Aotea Centre entry, BOX Café and Bar terrace entrance and BOX in the Square.
We have developed a simple process to assist with our contact tracing.
A QR code will be available at entry for visitors to scan on their mobile phones (we recommend downloading the Kaspersky QR scanner app, available on iPhone and Android.)
Alternatively, people can check in at covid19.rfaweb.co.nz/aoteacentre
The process includes a health declaration. Visitors do not need to check out.
Our friendly staff will be on hand to assist with the process.
Health and Safety
In accordance with the Ministry of Health’s Alert Level 2 health and safety guidelines, hand sanitiser units are situated throughout the Aotea Centre, its foyers and BOX Café and Bar.
Cleaning of our venues, surfaces and offices has increased, and high touch surfaces are cleaned daily.
Physical distancing is in place in our venues – i.e. one metre between friends, families and colleagues; two metres between strangers.
Ministry of Health signage advising of additional health and safety messages is displayed in all our venues and spaces.
What’s on?
At Alert Level 2 we are working with a range of small convention meetings and events activity, supporting our network of artists and companies to rehearse and develop new ideas in our venues, and get ready for Alert Level 1 where we look forward to inviting the public in for bigger events.
Until then, there are a number of things to see in and around our venues.
Lisa Reihana’s spectacular digital artwork Ihi, will be available to view from Alert Level 2 in the BNZ foyer (level 3) of the Aotea Centre during operating hours.
Aotea Square as a public space is open all year round. We are cooking up some new ideas to activate the space and get BOX in the Square Café and Bar ready for those events.
After seven weeks of downtime, from 18 May the Auckland Live Digital Stage will be in testing mode, and we look forward to showcasing some great stories and artists in a few weeks' time.
We look forward to creating new fun digital moments on the Aotea Centre Wrap from next week: as we head into winter, we have more dark time to play with!
Queens Wharf is a great place to take a stroll. While you are there take a look at the Michael Parekōwhi artwork The Lighthouse and capture an Instagram-worthy shot of the harbour.
