Starlings is a roaming outdoor theatrical event designed to bring a moment of brightness and surprise to everyday life. It is a free performance which anyone can participate in regardless of age, gender and culture.
A flock of five white birds appears in the sky, swooping, diving and moving as one bird, at times as individuals, as though carried on unseen currents.
Escape to the seaside with performers dressed as sailors for a moment of whimsy that will surprise and delight anyone who catches a glimpse. Brought to you by Red Leap Theatre, the New Zealand company behind The Arrival and Paper Sky.
In the case of wet weather, Starlings can be found fluttering through the Box Café adjacent to Aotea Square
