Auckland Arts Festival/Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki (AAF) is sadly unable to open this Thursday 4 March as planned, due to Auckland being at Alert Level 3. While we are working hard to hopefully reschedule much of the activity from the first part of our programme, we have been forced to cancel a small number of shows and events, including Te Tīmatanga. The full list for 4-7 March updates can be found here.

Come together and let your voices soar throughout Tāmaki Makaurau to mark the start of the Auckland Arts Festival; three weeks of uplifting arts, culture, celebration and kotahitanga/unity.

Join Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei as they lead us in launching the 2021 Festival with karakia and ceremony. Sing along with Pere Wihongi and Maaka Pohatu to Māori songs that you grew up with – ‘Pō Karekare Ana’, ‘Tūtira Mai Ngā Iwi’, ‘E Pāpā Waiari’ and many more!

Turn up on the night and sing along with lyrics on the big screen. Or, check out this YouTube playlist here paired with downloading the song sheet here to learn the tunes ahead of time.

Braille song sheets available. A special area will be set aside for wheelchair users. For further information contact access@aaf.co.nz
