Celebrate the 52nd anniversary of Te Wiki o te reo Māori, Māori Language Week with Auckland Live!
Te Wiki o te Reo Māori is an annual celebration for all New Zealanders to show their support for the Māori language, an official language of this country.
The theme for Te Wiki 2024 is ‘Ake ake ake – A Forever Language’. It represents the resilience, adaptability and endurance of our language. It also reflects the commitment New Zealanders have to embracing and learning te reo Māori long into the future.
Across the week, enjoy waiata, documentaries and more that celebrate our national language. From Mon 16 Sep - Sun 22 Sep, the Auckland Live Digital Stage will be showcasing some of Aotearoa’s leading performing artists and their waiata through Waiata Anthems.
The Auckland Live Digital Stage will be playing Monday – Sunday from 12pm – 3pm.
Proudly supported by Auckland Council and the city centre targeted rate.
