Auckland Live Celebrates New Zealand Music Month 2023

New Zealand Music Month is now world famous in NZ as a much-loved annual celebration of the vibrant music scene in Aotearoa, and our iconic venues will be humming along with events right here in the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau. Explore a range of live music happening in our venues including gigs, classical performances and check out some of the special events we have on offer below:

Head to the Auckland Live Digital Stage in Aotea Square for our free Digital Buskers experience where you crank the lever to reveal one of eight digital buskers. Or experience FromThePit a celebratory photo exhibition showcasing the work of some of the most talented music photographers from across New Zealand.

Over in the iconic Wintergarden, The Civic, gather your mates, book your table to record the score and take on the ultimate New Zealand music quiz. Or later in the month, on one special Saturday, over at the iconic music venue the Auckland Town Hall, you can bring the whānau and friends to pick your favourite New Zealand music anthem and cheer some of the best street dancers at Pick & Battle with a performance and workshop!

For you New Zealand music historians take an exclusive New Zealand music month special edition tour of our fabulous Auckland Town Hall curated by award-winning author and music historian Gareth Shute, uncover the magic and listen to the stories found right in the heart of the Auckland Town Hall.
