Show description

Acute Self is an interactive digital exhibition inspired by the famous cubism painting Nude Descending Staircase by Marcel Duchamp.

When you move in front of the installation, a 3D geometric shape is generated on the screen which changes its perspective along with your movements. Once you stop moving and leave the interactive space, the geometrical shapes that have formed fade away slowly. The user is given the opportunity to investigate and interact with their own movement as well as experience how they occupy digital and physical space.

This exhibition was originally commissioned in 2012 by Auckland Live and Colab at AUT with the support of Creative New Zealand and developed in collaboration with The Interrupt Collective.
