Part of Elemental AKL, Ballet Noir is an elegant new work by one of Aotearoa’s best loved ballet and contemporary dance choreographers, Mary-Jane O’Reilly.

Channelling the tragi-romantic narrative of the great classic ballet Giselle, this production pays homage to the stylish, cryptic aesthetic of film noir and explores the mysterious forces of darkness. Characters include femmes fatales, a young innocent abroad and two male rivals who’ll go head to head with dance as their weapon.

Featuring twelve of Auckland's finest dancers, Ballet Noir is an exquisite blend of dance, music and fantasy.
