Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand Sabreen weaves a unique indie-pop style together, with inspirations from the likes of Hozier, Conan Gray and Dodie. After releasing her debut EP ‘Room Service’ in 2024, following a full house show at Auckland’s BIG FAN and opening for global indie sensation Prateek Kuhad’s Silhouettes Tour Sabreen is one to watch.

About the Artist

Auckland-raised, Bengali singer-songwriter Sabreen is an artist, author and songwriter who crafts cinematic, heart-wrenching stories. She released her debut EP ‘Room Service’ in 2023, following a full house show at Auckland’s BIG FAN and opening for global indie sensation Prateek Kuhad’s Silhouettes Tour. Her single ‘Countryman’ received funding from NZ On Air, as well as a Blues Award from the University of Auckland and led to Sabreen being selected as one of YWCA’s Y25 laureates for creating positive change. Sabreen is also a published poet and was selected as a semi-finalist for the International Songwriting Competition in 2020.  

Proudly Bangladeshi and Muslim, Sabreen is a fierce advocate for her community, which often finds its way into her music. Her latest single ‘The End’ blends South Asian soundscapes with her signature indie-folk sound to create a powerful ballad in solidarity with Palestine. With support from local Palestinian advocacy groups and performances at rallies, Sabreen is combining her activism with music to create art for a better world.
