Auckland’s city centre is being transformed into a kaleidoscope of colour this May thanks to the City of Colour.
Co-curated by award-winning designer Angus Muir and Auckland Council’s city centre place activation principal, Barbara Holloway, City of Colour will see over 50 installations and artworks light up laneways, squares, streets, trees and more from the heart of the city and up to Karangahape Rd.
Auckland Live will also be flicking the switch on some of our most iconic venues across the three-week event as ribbons of orange and pink will transform the Aotea Centre into a beacon amongst the cityscape and the walls of The Civic will be awash with colour on the corner of Wellesley and Queen St. Tinges of light will also grace the exterior of the iconic Auckland Town Hall and LEDs will embellish a series of poles across Aotea Square.
City of Colour also coincides with New Zealand Music Month so visitors will be able to experience a multitude of audible activities across Auckland Live’s multiple venues.
So, make sure you add a splash of colour to your life in May with Auckland Live and the City of Colour.
