This weekend we have the perfect symphony of musical talent, classic experiences and orchestral bliss. Come and be serenaded by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra’s Young Achievers, the Royal New Zealand Navy Band and New Zealand Opera and so much more.  And no Auckland Live classical weekend would be complete without offering a sneak peek inside the Auckland Town Hall Organ.

 

Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra’s Young Achievers

A selection of the APO Young Achievers will present a diverse range of classical music in ensemble performances during Auckland Live Summer in the Square. Performances include Le Chéile, a low brass ensemble; Polka-dot Trio, the unusual combination of oboe, horn and piano; and Tubaca Brass Quartet, showcasing the adaptability of the brass ensemble with music from Bach to West Side Story and everything in between.

Royal New Zealand Navy Band and New Zealand Opera

Some of the finest New Zealand Opera singers will join the Royal New Zealand Navy Band for the first time to present a special showcase of opera with music from Mozart to musical theatre. Musical sparks are sure to fly.
