It is with great regret that we are announcing the cancellation of the NZ International Comedy Festival 2020.
The decision, made by the NZ Comedy Trust, is the direct result of the Covid-19 outbreak, the travel restrictions now in place for our international performers, and the need to eliminate the risk of spread of the virus within Aotearoa.
New Zealand’s number one producer of live comedy is back at the Bruce Mason Centre with a festival full of world-class laughs, kicking off with the Comedy All-Star Showcase providing a taste of things to come in the three-week annual fest.
The 2020 Showcase features some brand-new Festival faces including;
- Ray Bradshaw (Scotland). Two-time Scottish Comedian of the Year finalist
- Laura Lexx (England). As seen on Live at The Apollo
- Danny O’Brien (Ireland). ‘Uproariously funny - 5 stars’ Independent on Sunday
- Tom Deacon (ENG). ‘A mighty fine comic’ Guardian (UK)
- And our very special MC duo, Jarred Christmas (NZ) and Hobbit (ENG)
They will be joined by the return of Festival favourites, Paul Sinha a.k.a. ‘The Sinnerman’ from TVNZ’s The Chase, and Ian Smith (ENG).
Seven world-class comedy acts in one huge two-hour show, the ideal show to kick off your Festival with family, friends, workmates, and the social network.
And look out for our line-up at the BMC Comedy Club (Thu-Sat) over the following three weeks.
