Selling out this year’s Auckland Live Fringe Town and winner of Pick of the Fringe, Best Dance, and the Auckland Arts Festival Best of Fringe awards, Haka Theatre company, Hawaiki TŪ’s powerful Māori dance work Taurite returns to the Auckland Town Hall for two limited performances.

Embodying the pursuit of balance and duality, Hawaiki TU’s second development of Taurite is a vital and ritualistic performative experience invoking ancestral roots in indigenous physical expressions of kapa haka and Māori dance.

Translated as ‘the pursuit of balance’, the show was described as “the hidden gem” of this year’s Auckland Fringe and is an experiential performance you won’t want to miss.

Developed in partnership with Auckland Live.

Taurite will also be part of Aronui Indigenous Arts Festival in Rotorua this September. For more information, click here.
