Happy 90th Birthday The Civic!

On Friday 20 December, the grand old lady of Auckland theatre and musicals is turning 90. To celebrate this milestone birthday, we made 90 spots available across three guided tours of The Civic.

Auckland Live’s bespoke one hour tour of this iconic landmark are legendary and  packed full of facts, anecdotes and fun, as well as giving patrons exclusive access to areas usually reserved for the stars.

'LOVE! The mighty Civic’ - Tour patron

Our trained tour guides will share the stories of The Civic’s fascinating history: its inception and design as an atmospheric theatre in the 1920s, its scandalous war years, its decline during the 60s and 70s, and its triumphant restoration and status as one of Auckland’s architectural treasures.

Plus, as a special 90th birthday celebration, each attendee will be given a souvenir postcard of The Civic and a 10% discount off food and 20% discount off beverages at Starks Café and Bar, The Civic.
