Taking in the venue from top to bottom, you’ll see The Civic foyers through new eyes as the inspiration for its unique décor is revealed. You’ll get a taste of the glamour and greasepaint found backstage, and hear the tales of what went on in The Wintergarden during WWII, as well as take in the view from the theatre’s opera boxes and soak up the atmosphere of the 2300 seat auditorium, beneath the beauty of the theatre’s famous twinkling night sky.
Entertaining, educational and a rare privilege, The Civic Tours will delight lovers of history and theatre, as well as fans of one of Auckland’s most-loved buildings.
