Vivaldi’s Four Seasons

No longer available

Great Hall, Auckland Town Hall

Classical music

Violin Andrew Beer

Listen, laugh, learn and enjoy.

*Unfortunately, due to illness, presenter Richard Gill will not be travelling from Australia to front the performance this week. Instead, Australian broadcaster and musical entertainer Guy Noble will step in. Noble will present the performance and Concertmaster Andrew Beer will be playing and directing the orchestra.

In the first edition of 2017’s Unwrap the Music, ebullient music educator and conductor Richard Gill joins the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra to discuss Vivaldi’s Four Seasons – Summer and Winter and reveal what makes it so special.

The languid heat and the sharp storm of summer, the comfort of warmth in winter after being beaten by the wind and snow. The theme of mankind’s relationship with nature is eternal and Vivaldi paints it so vividly. Richard Gill brings you the weather report.

Part concert, part interactive talk, each Unwrap the Music is guaranteed to take your musical appreciation to the next level. This entertaining event is great for all ages whether you are a seasoned concertgoer or new to orchestral music.

Supported by the Maurice Paykel Charitable Trust.
