There are multiple events happening in Tāmaki Makaurau this Sunday that could affect your journey into the city.
 

Lunar New Year in the Square at Aotea Square
Sunday 25 February, 10am - 7pm
 

Auckland Pride March at Aotea Square and Queen Street
Sunday 25 February, 2pm
 


 

We anticipate heavy traffic coming into the city, the Civic Car Park and other city centre-based parking may be full or difficult to get to due to road closures. Please factor in extra travel time when planning your journey. 

Buses, trains and ferries will run according to weekend schedules. You may also choose to catch a taxi or other ride share services.

The following road closures and parking restrictions apply this weekend. Please ensure you factor in extra travel time if you are planning to travel by car. The latest updates are available on the Auckland Transport website.

 

Road closures

Roads closed: Queen Street, Tyler Street, Galway Street, Commerce Street, Gore Street.

Road Closure times for Sunday 25 February:

  • 3pm - 4.30pm: Queen Street (from Rutland Street to Te Komititanga Square, this is a rolling closure)
  • 12pm - 11.30pm: Galway Street, Tyler Street, Gore Street
 


Parking restriction times for Sunday 25 February:

  • 3pm - 4:30pm: Queen Street (between Rutland Street and Te Komititanga Square)
  • 12pm - 11:30pm: Galway Street, Tyler Street and Gore Street

Container in the Square will be open from 10am - 7pm on Sunday 25 February.
