QBE supports arts in New Zealand with Auckland Live partnership
QBE Insurance (QBE) today announced its support for the arts in New Zealand, becoming the first ever Principal Partner of Auckland Live. The partnership will see QBE supporting performances at a number of Auckland Live venues across Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau, starting as principal partner for the 2019 Auckland Live Cabaret Season (June 11 - June 16) at The Civic.
Auckland Live provides the largest platform for live arts and entertainment in New Zealand, and manages the Aotea Centre, the country’s biggest performing arts and convention centre.
Speaking of the partnership, Interim Chief Customer Officer, QBE New Zealand and Pacific, Bill Donovan says it is a privilege to support creative arts in Auckland, and that the partnership is part of QBE’s commitment to the communities it operates within.
“We’re very excited to work with a leading provider of arts and entertainment in New Zealand. The partnership offers an opportunity for us to contribute to the vibrant arts scene in Auckland city, supporting access to the arts for the whole community.
“We look forward to working with Auckland Live as it continues its important work in supporting and promoting the city as a major arts centre, attracting and showcasing world-class performances and events. We recognise the importance of the arts to New Zealanders and are proud to partner with Auckland Live as it enriches the lives of all Aucklanders and visitors to the city. The newly re-developed Aotea Centre, with the QBE Gallery positioned inside, is an exciting example of the fantastic work Auckland Live is doing.
“As part of our partnership, we are delighted to sponsor the 2019 Auckland Live Cabaret Season. The Season brings an eclectic and exciting mix of music, drag, theatre and comedy to the iconic Civic. It’s going to be six-nights of high energy, innovative entertainment and fun, and we can’t wait to be part of it.”
The Auckland Live partnership complements QBE’s existing community-focused sponsorship relationships in New Zealand with KidsCan and North Harbour Rugby.
Auckland Live director, Robbie Macrae, says the newly announced partnership with QBE underscores the organisation’s commitment to opening the doors to people of all ages to engage with live entertainment and the arts.
“It’s through the tangible support of QBE that we can continue to champion our diverse arts community and ensure we grow the rich, engaging, and accessible live arts culture, not just in Auckland, but throughout the country.
“We are delighted QBE shares our vision for the performing arts in Aotearoa and are proud to be in partnership with an award-winning world leader in its field.”
