Witness the world’s top talents on the launch pad when six brilliant young violinist finalists compete in this internationally-renowned major violin competition at the iconic Auckland Town Hall.

Audiences can experience the thrilling semi-final and grand final and decide for themselves who will win the grand prize.

Flexible attendance options cater to the classical music connoisseur, as well as the dabblers and folks just wanting to enjoy one session. Purchase one session, or an all-session pass to savour for flexibility throughout the event. Come and go as you wish, or get swept up, stuck in and attend the lot.

The advancing six semi-finalists’ impeccable artistry and leadership skills are on display when, with just 90 minutes’ rehearsal, they lead Mozart’s sublime string quintets with eminent NZ musicians Andrew Beer, Gillian Ansell, Julia Joyce and Ashley Brown.

The thrilling Final Round is when the top three go head-to-head performing concertos with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

Everything culminates in the exciting Grand Finale when the winner is announced and the prizes are bestowed (including the Audience Prize, so be prepared to cast your vote!)

The popular Insiders’ Guide (presented at the start of each day and free to ticket holders) informs curious audience members what to listen for and answers their most pressing questions – it’s like wine tasting with the vintner!
