Celebrating the Queen of Soul
The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra is celebrating the music of soul legend Aretha Franklin with a concert of her greatest songs performed by a trio of fantastic female vocalists.
Musical and cultural icon Aretha Franklin had more than 100 chart-topping singles in a career that spanned over five decades.
Boh Runga, Bella Kalolo and Vanessa Stacey will perform lush arrangements of Aretha’s greatest hits with Auckland’s superb a cappella gospel choir, Jubilation and the full symphony orchestra.
From ‘Think’, ‘Spanish Harlem’, ‘Natural Woman’, ‘Say A Little Prayer’ right through to the fiercest feminist anthem of all time, ‘Respect’ - all the classics will be there!
