A giant of New Zealand music, Shayne Carter writes of the people, places and social forces that have shaped him, in his autobiography Dead People I Have Known. 

From the death of a band member, to the halted progress of Straitjacket Fits – the band that was expected to conquer the world with numbers such as “She Speeds”– and his dazzling comeback with the band Dimmer, Carter’s story is a hike through our cultural landscape, notably taking in that ‘Dunedin Sound’.
