A Question of Style: Garance Doré

Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre, Aotea Centre

Talks & ideas

Once called “the guardian of all style” by New York Times Magazine, Corsican born Garance Doré was working as an illustrator in Paris when she launched her eponymous blog in 2006. Sharing images of style on the streets, she went on to become one of the most recognised women in the world of fashion, and a singular voice across social media channels.

In 2015, shortly before she walked away from the fashion industry, she published the New York Times bestseller Love X Style X Life – part-style guide, part-visual diary, part-intimate look into her world. Currently in Wellington, her writing life continues with a weekly subscription newsletter sharing personal, philosophical, and often hilarious insights about her life.

Doré speaks with Wendy Petrie about her writing, her personal growth as a woman and an artist, and how to be beautiful inside as well as out.

Supported by Josephine and Ross Green.

UPDATE SINCE PROGRAMME LAUNCH: Garance Doré has urgently returned to France for family reasons and will not be able to join us on stage in person. She will now be live-streaming into the venue.
