One doesn’t often see a Beethoven symphony opening a concert programme – but the composer’s 4th symphony is a light and cheerful work, with a pervading spirit of optimism.
The Rio Grande by English composer Constant Lambert features a jazz-inspired alto part, five percussionists on an exciting range of instruments, and a dazzling piano part. Together with a full symphony orchestra and 120-voice choir, a vibrant listening experience is guaranteed!
Peace, My Heart is a short work written in 2021 by David Hamilton, who is one of NZ’s best known and most-performed composers.
AYO is conducted by Antun Poljanich, a conducting graduate of the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in Leningrad. David Squire, the Music Director of AYC, is one of NZ’s most prominent choral conductors.
