Band Together features three of the country's largest and most awarded concert bands playing some of the very finest music of the genre. Between them, the bands currently hold the titles of best: program, individual piece, solo instrumental and chamber music performance at the New Zealand Concert Band Association National Festival.
The show will be a true symphonic spectacle of a scale rarely seen in New Zealand, with music ranging from the latest Star Wars film scores to evocative symphonic show pieces based on ghostly train rides and other vivid imagery. Many of the works will have been only recently premiered in the country.
Featuring the West City Concert Band, known for giving creative, engaging performances of top tier works that entertain people of all ages. Manukau Concert Band present polished performances of beautiful programs, while the University of Auckland Concert Band, the largest competing band in the country, brings students from all faculties together to put on an enthralling show.
Playing for the first time together in the Auckland Town Hall with the support of Auckland Live, this will be an historic display. If you enjoy live music and have never experienced bands like these, this is one event you won't want to miss!
