To mark the 50-year anniversary of the establishment of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), the organisation are proud to present Beyond Borders, a photo exhibition reflecting five decades of medical humanitarian action.
The exhibition shares some of the pivotal moments that mark our history, moments which shine a light on the strength of people who have lived through unimaginable crises.
About Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
Founded in 1971 in France by a group of doctors and journalists in the wake of war and famine in Biafra (now part of Nigeria). Their aim was to establish an independent organisation that focused on delivering emergency medical aid quickly, effectively, and impartially. MSF was created in the belief that all people should have access to healthcare regardless of gender, race, religion, creed or political affiliation, and that people’s medical needs outweigh respect for national boundaries. Today, they remain just as committed to working with people where they need us most.
