Daybreak Estate is a joyful, challenging, and thought-provoking dance-theatre work, described by audiences as “haunting and charming”, “wildly clever” and “hilarious in a somewhat devastating way”.
Choreographer, Jessie McCall’s interweaving of dance, theatre, and performance design makes for a unique work that is refreshingly indefinable, peppered with laugh-out-loud humour and sheer delight.
Trapped in a decaying wellness retreat, the performers are equal parts social elite and primal pack, disconnected from the earth, yet face down in the mud. Self-healing and self-destruction intertwine as bottles are popped and seeds are planted.
