Show description

An introspective celebration of Pacific people, 'ENUA (formerly Territory) was originally created and choreographed in 2014 by Vivian Hosking-Aue. (AUĒ Dance Company)

A decade later Vivian brings this compelling work back to life, reinvented as a Pacific Couture fashion and Pacific dance show that questions how we interact with people from different social-cultural areas to ourselves.

In the 1970’s Pacific Islands immigrants populated Ponsonby and created a lively cultural energy. Today, Ponsonby is filled with classy restaurants and expensive shops, and it is South Auckland that contrasts as a predominantly Pacific Islands populated low socio-economic area.

What if South Auckland was Ponsonby today? Would Aucklanders walk the way they walk? Would they talk the way they talk?

Presented by Pacific Dance Festival NZ. Proudly supported by Auckland Live.
