The second concert in the 2026 Free Organ Concert Series in partnership with the Auckland Town Hall Organ Trust presents a showcase for two of New Zealand’s and Australia’s brightest young organ stars.
Sydney’s Cynthia Bui is just 17 but has already conquered fields far beyond her age. At age 12 she gained her AMusA diploma in piano with Distinction and two years later, the licentiate diploma with Distinction in organ. A three-times winner of the Sydney Organ Competition Cynthia has enjoyed masterclasses with such luminaries as Olivier Latry and Daniel Roth. She is currently Organ and Choral Scholar at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Parramatta.
Aucklander Jaime Taylor showed early musical promise, gaining an LTCL diploma with Distinction in piano as a teenager followed by the same diploma in organ soon afterwards. Recently he attended a masterclass with Christopher Wrench. He is also an accomplished violinist and singer. Jaime is currently a third-year medical student at the University of Auckland but has continued his interest in the organ, playing regularly at Mt. Albert Methodist Church and St. Columba Presbyterian church.
These two impressive young organists will present major works by J.S. Bach, F. Mendelssohn, C.M. Widor, M. Duruflé, L.Vierne and E.M Fagiani.
