After receiving rave reviews at its 2018 Kia Mau Festival premiere, the life affirming, verbatim play Barrier Ninja comes to Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau.

Barrier Ninja weaves together nine very personal stories, from medical professionals through to people dealing with health issues, while navigating the health system. Uplifting and heart-warming, this show will leave you with an understanding of just what it takes to nimbly knock down barriers and cut through red tape like a ninja!

Created by Fran Kewene (Tainui) and performed by Julie Edwards (Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Whare). Barrier Ninja has been adopted into the Hauora Māori medical curriculum at the Dunedin School of Medicine, University of Otago, and to date has been seen by over 1000 medical students.
