AUCKLAND, NZ (May 2, 2023) – One of the UK’s most distinctive voices, LOYLE CARNER today announces his hugo album tour will visit Australia and New Zealand this July.
Following an appearance at Splendour In The Grass, the South London MC will perform at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, Adelaide’s Hindley St Music Hall and Melbourne’s Palais Theatre before heading across the ditch to New Zealand for a one off performance at the Auckland Town Hall, as part of the Elemental Nights arts festival.
Since his first musical statement on 2014’s A Little Late EP, Loyle Carner has captured the imagination of the world with endless sincerity and unabashed openness. Now with three albums to his name and wildly successful collaborations with the likes of Tom Misch, Madlib, Jorja Smith and Jordan Rakei, Loyle has rightfully become one of British music’s most celebrated figures.
Loyle’s latest LP hugo is the fastest selling album of his career, almost doubling the first week sales of 2019’s Not Waving, but Drowning. hugo debuted at #3 on the UK’s album charts and has been met with universal critical acclaim. Outlets such as The Guardian, The Wire and NME have hailed the album as Carner’s best work to date.
