Grieg Peer Gynt: Suite No.1
Brahms Violin Concerto

Carl Nielsen is a composer close to Giordano Bellincampi’s heart. His
Symphony No. 3 packs a vast punch - cosmic exuberance, preternatural calm, a radiant hymn of happiness. This extraordinary piece promises to be a highlight of the season.
Opening with the clean tranquillity of Morning, Grieg’s first suite from his music to the play Peer Gynt ends in its hero’s escape from the terrifying Mountain King.
Brahms’ Violin Concerto is one of the biggest peaks in a violinist’s repertoire. Yet it’s also light of heart, with a melting, pastoral oboe solo, and a scintillating tribute to the gypsy fiddlers Brahms adored.
