Music

Belgian producer and honorary Kiwi NETSKY (aka Boris Daenen) will return to our shores this February for five shows across Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington and Hamilton, ending up centre stage at Auckland Town Hall.

Netsky first fell in love with NZ when he made his debut in NZ at Rhythm and Vines in 2010. Since then he has returned six times to play at the festival, hired a Kiwi tour manager (Josh Smith) and even answered the call of duty when friend Dan Carter asked him to DJ at the All Blacks’ official after party when they won the World Cup in 2015. 2019 is set to be the biggest year of Netsky’s career to date and Kiwis have the honour of being the first to see him debut his Palmtrees & Powerlines world tour right here in NZ. Promising  cutting-edge production, special effects, mind blowing pyrotechnics and visuals this is a show set to push boundaries and tickets will sell out.
Since arriving onto the scene in 2009, Netsky has performed some of the world's most iconic clubs, arenas and festivals including Coachella, Glastonbury, Ultra and Tomorrowland. He has released three acclaimed studio albums and collaborated with international artists at the top of their game such as Macklemore, Emeli Sande and Jauz. Netsky has also worked with the likes of  Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, and Jack Ü resulting in iconic remixes that have become synonymous with sunshine and good times the world over.

At the beginning of 2017, after the sad passing of his father, Netsky made a decision to go off the grid and take a break from music. It was during this time, on a short trip to LA that Netsky was offered a 4 hour session with with prestigious producers Stargate (legendary for making monumental hits for Beyonce, Coldplay, Charli XCX and more). The initial four hour session turned into a year long project, collaborating with A-list artists and a new sonic direction emerging. Feeling ready to bring his focus back to his art, Netsky threw himself back into his music with this latest single ‘Ice Cold’ with French DJ and producer David Guetta a small taste of what he has to come.
Signing with Republic Records, the powerhouse label who represents Post Malone and Taylor Swift, Netsky is set to release his new album, Palmtrees & Powerlines in early 2019. In a first-of-its-kind partnership between Republic Records and Casablanca Records, the album is set be two distinct parts – Palmtrees is set to feature infectious pop music as Netsky diversifies his sound, while Powerlines delves into the darker, heavier side of his music, bringing the club tracks he’s known for to the table.
