Beethoven is timeless, reaching through the ages to continue to inspire extraordinary feats of creativity, even now. In this matinee concert, the original power and innovation of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony will be cast in high relief by a constellation of exciting contemporary works inspired by Beethoven’s trail-blazing and boundary-pushing genius.
André De Ridder hopes to “find new audiences for [traditional] repertoire and put it in new contexts.” This concert celebrates the evergreen and evolving legacy of one of music’s greatest figures, as this legacy only continues to grow and embrace the music of today.
