‘What is the secret of nature? Maybe only the wind and birds know.’ – Tan Dun

Showing us that the most beautiful things are often the most transient, luminary composer/conductor Tan Dun makes his APO debut.

Nothing is out of bounds here. The evocative music featured in this concert uses everything from traditional Chinese instruments to mobile phones, and is as grand as it is intimate.

Beautifully paired with music from ballets by Manuel de Falla and Stravinsky, this concert of birds, magic and the elements expresses Tan Dun’s ongoing endeavour to understand the world around us.
