The Te Kahu Tōpuni Kapa Haka Festival is a joyful celebration of tamariki, culture and identity, bringing together primary schools from across Auckland in a vibrant, non-competitive festival of kapa haka.
Through waiata, haka, poi and mōteatea, young performers celebrate the stories of Tāmaki Makaurau. Filled with pride, energy and heart, this is a festival where confidence grows, friendships flourish, and the future of kapa haka shines brightly. This is an opportunity for kura to strengthen relationships with tangata whenua by learning narratives that pertain to these very lands and remember and commemorate the beginnings of our beautiful city, Auckland.
