“The Big Sing”, run by the NZ Choral Federation, is the national secondary school choral competition, held annually in 11 centres. The Auckland regional event runs over 3 days (18-20 June) in the Auckland Town Hall. Here is your chance to hear stunning and varied performances from over 60 of Auckland’s secondary school choirs, showcasing choral music presented with skill, diversity, enthusiasm and musicianship. You will hear everything from classical to contemporary art music; from music theatre to gospel; and from Maori and Pasifika to Hungarian and French music. Each daytime session culminates in a Gala concert at 7.00pm that night.
Entry to daytime sessions in the Town Hall is $5.
Tuesday: 8.50am – 12.30pm, 1.20pm – 5pm
Wednesday: 8.50am – 12.30pm, 1.20pm – 5pm
Thursday: 8.50am – 12.30pm, 1.20pm – 4pm
Gala concerts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7.00pm
